Horse of the month for November is the Kladruby Horse which is the only indigenous breed of the Czech Republic.
The Kladruby breed is over 400 years old, from the 16th and 17th century. The Kladruby horse shares ancestry traits with the Nonius and Lipica breeds.
The stables at Lipica and Kladruby nad Labem often exchanged breeding materials, not just studs, but also mares. It is estimated that there are 1,200 Kladruber horses in the world with more than 1,000 in the Czech Republic. The Kladruby’s average height is 16.2 to 17 hands and they are known for their high front leg action.
Their breeding results with horses in grey and black colors, and all grey horses are born dark, so the foals are dark brown, black. They have noble heads with typically shaped Roman noses, and have a strong neck and long body.

The October Horse of the Month is Stone’s Benchmark, a dark bay Canadian Thoroughbred gelding, 17 hands tall.
I was asked to perform an appraisal on him before he was donated to the Pegasus Project in Yakima, Washington.
He is very valuable to them there and is known as a “gentle giant” for the larger kids and adults with disabilities.

(The Chronicle of the Horse published Kate’s outstanding performance in
the Children’s and Adult Amateur Jumper Central Regional Championships)

The Horse of the Month for May, 2015 is the Belgium Warmblood, "ELVIS", the epitome of the “Schooling Master,”
shown here at age 25 at a 2004 Linden Hall horse show, Lititz, PA.
The older show horses like ELVIS still have many miles left to teach young riders.
Besides, the older horses need exercise and “riot” when there’s a horse show and they’re not being shown.
