Horses of the Month for 2007
December 2007

Horse of the Month for December, 2007 is the Trekehner stallion,
Pennant, owned by Mel and Lou Ann Klump of Missouri. Although
not actively breeding due to his older age he’s still
ridden by the Klumps. His registered Half Arabian son, Phaon,
went Top Ten at the Arabian Nationals in the Regular Working
Hunters.

Horse of the Month
for November, 2007 is the Thoroughbred race horse mare, Tuccoa.
Racing primarily at Colonial Downs, New Kent, VA, she has
never been out of the money in her 18 starts. Eagle Point
Farms of Ashland, VA is the owner; Karen Dennehy is her trainer.

HORSE of the Month for September, 2007 is the American Quarter
Horse, “OTOES DAKOTA DELL” pictured here at the
2002 All American Quarter Horse Congress, Columbus, OH. The
11 year old horse was recently donated to the Auburn University
Equestrian Program; NAES did the appraisal.

Horse of the Month for August, 2007 is the ten year old Thoroughbred
gelding, “Light the Way” (also known as “CAPPY”
since he was bred by the famous Morton “Cappy”
Smith). Ms. Tamara Tucker, Esq. owns “CAPPY” and
shows the horse in the amateur hunter division.

Horse of the Month for July, 2007 is the 8 year old Westphalian
gelding, Max, owned by Canadian Grand Prix rider, Hugh Graham.
Max is pictured being shown as a Jr. Working Hunter by Ms.
Olivia Chowdry of Colorado who is currently leasing the horse.

Horse of the month for June, 2007 is the Oldenburg mare, Dommenwhal
by the great Donnerhall shown here being ridden as a three
year old just prior to being sold at the prestigious PSI Sale
in Ankim, Germany, 2004.

Horse of the month for May, 2007 is the 12 year old American Saddlebred,
“Executive Dunk."
The horse is shown here being ridden by his owner, Ms. Judy
Werner and winning the Five-Gaited Pleasure Champion Division
at the American Royal National Horse Show in 2006, Kansas
City Missouri.
In addition, “Executive Dunk” was Five-Gaited
Pleasure Champion at the St. Louis National Horse Show and
was the ASHA National Five-Gaited Pleasure Champion and the
USEF Reserve Champion Horse of the Year Five-Gaited Pleasure
Horse.

The Horse of the Month for April 2007 is the 17 hand, 12 year
old Cleveland Bay Sport Horse, “IdleHour McHenry.”
His owner is Cindy Bank. The horse is shown here being ridden by Ms. Lauren Ball-Tisdale
in a dressage class. The Cleveland Bay is one of the oldest breeds and is considered
by many to be one of the first “warmblood” horses. They were first imported to Maryland, Virginia and Massachusetts
in the early 1800’s.

ridden by Michael Dennehy of Denver, CO in the 2nd Year Conformation
Working Hunter division at the Pennsylvania National Horse
Show.

The Horse of the Month for January, 2007 is “Moulin Rouge,”
The Dutch Warmblood mare shown here at the Washington International
horse show ridden by her previous owner, Natalie Johnson.
The mare was Grand Junior Hunter Champion in 2005. The horse
is now owned by Ms. Kitt Ritter of North Carolina.
