Horses of the Month for 2005
December 2005

The Horse of the Month for December, 2005 is the
British Riding Pony, “Salvandi Mo-Jo.”
The rider is Taylor Shearin showing at the 2003 Pony Finals
in the Green Pony Division.
November 2005
The Horse of the Month for November is the Connemara
mare, “Smalltalk,” by the Connemara stallion,
Aladdin's Denver and is out of the Thoroughbred mare, “Chatterbox.”
The half-bred Connemara is a good choice for riders looking
for an all-around performer. This mare is currently owned
and trained, by Ms. Connie Harter of North Carolina as an
eventing horse.

The Horse of the Month for October, 2005 is Brescia,
a 5 year old daughter of the still very prominent stallion,
All the Gold. Her grandmother was Bavaria, one of the finest
mares we’ve ever seen. Ms. Kaneps, the owner, purchased
Brescia from Ms. Shawna Dietrich, Simpsonville, KY. as a two
year old.
September 2005

The Horse of the Month for September, 2005 is Little
Kings LF Buckeroo Zorro, a champion Miniature Horse owned
by the JSW Farm of West Liberty, KY, (606-743-4436).
August 2005

Horse of the Month for August, 2005 is “Fakir”,
an Akhal-teke bred stallion. The breed is extremely rare,
(less than 350 in the US), and “Bucephalos,” the
mount of Alexander the Great, was an Akhal-teke.. (“Fakir”
is owned by Jennifer Bristow)
July 2005

Horse of the Month for July, 2005 is the nine year
old Westphalian mare, “Bimini.” The Colorado horse
has been shown very successfully in the Small Junior Working
Hunter Division by her owner, Elizabeth Boles and is in 33rd
place nationally.

Horse of the Month for June, 2005 is the American Hackney
Horse. While most of us recognize the Hackney Pony, the Hackney
Horse stands over 14.2 hands and is shown in harness and sometimes
under saddle. The Hackney Stud Book was originated in England
in 1883. Like the Hackney Pony, the horse must be shown with
brilliance and animation "which should transmit joy to
both the owner and spectator."

Horse of the Month for May 2005, is two year "Claire",
a Gypsy Vanner, owned by Ms. Lori Emmett of Oregon; (the breed
has just recently been imported from England). Hardy breeds
were crossed to create a gentle and strong horse with flashy
colors making them recognizable.

Horse of the Month for April, 2005 is the Argentine Thoughroughbred
polo pony ridden by 8 goal player Marcos diPaolo playing for
the Loro Piana team in the CV Whitney Cup in Palm Beach, Florida,
March 13th, 2005.

Horses of the Month for March, 2005 are the Quarter Horses,
"Big Ed", a "healing horse" ridden by
Alex Yanez of Cave Creek, AZ and "Mac Daddy" ridden
by Matt Tyler pictured at the Lazy E, Guthrie, OK.
February 2005

The Horse of the Month for February, 2005 is Appaloosa stallion,
“Mighty Cowboy,” standing at Pretty Penny Ranch,
Scottsdale, Arizona. Foaled in 1986, this famous stallion
has sired many World Champions including “Cowboys Customaid,”
Canadian Appaloosa Nationals Champion.
January 2005

The Horse of the Month for January, 2005 is "Rivoli",
Owner Audrey Halle, was awarded the Protocol Trophy for the
highest scoring 4' Division at Devon, Washington and Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania Horse Shows. Peter Pletcher, rider.
